This brand has a good reputation so I gave it a try. I've had a few other similar holders over the years, mostly known good brands. This one is very well made, extremely good quality, better than the others I've had. I mounted it to glass, and it holds extremely well. The structure and tightening knobs work well and it doesn't feel like it will break as you tighten it in position. You don't have to overtighten the knobs to make it hold solidly, with one exception which is the ball swivel ring that connects the holder to the arm. That tightens easily and has a stop so it can't be overtightened, but it also leaves the ball swivel early movable by hand, which I gather is by design, maybe to fine tune the position every now and then, or to rotate the bracket/phone from portrait to landscape. I would have preferred it lock solidly in place; however, It holds pretty well, and it you often want to rotate your phone, this is great and easy to do, but on bump gravel roads, or if you hit a bad pothole, it will move. I'll decide in a while if I will use a bit of tape around the ball so I can tighten and lock it in place. Other than that, the rest of the bracket/arm hold solidly.As for the phone bracket, It opens very easily, and closes very easily and automatically when the phone is put into it, but it does close with a sudden snap that is a bit forceful but not too bad. You do have to adjust it so none of the phone buttons get pressed by those arms, and I could barely do that with my iPhone but it did just barely fit that way. The bracket has dry grippy rubber which, if you keep it clean it grips and holds the phone really securely.As for the dash-mount disk, I think most dashboards these days are made of a textured plastic, not something smooth and shiny, so the mounting disk is required for dash mount. But after doing a lot of online research, countless users reported dash damage after removing the disk (following directions) and even though the manufacture says it is meant to be removable (though can only be used once), I did not want to risk it. But if you are ok with having it as a permanent thing to always stay there, research seems to indicate it will hold and work extremely well.Overall, I highly recommend this bracket compared to others I've had. The only thing I would like different would be a model which has a built-in wireless charge cable, and at the time I purchased this, I did see such a model on the manufactures website but it was not available through Amazon; perhaps it will be by the time you read this.
